Workshop – From Margins to Focus: Strengthening Support for Older Women Surviving Abuse
European Workshop
Thursday 15th of January | 10:00-12:30 CET | ONLINE
Older women experiencing abuse often remain overlooked within both policy and practice. Despite facing unique forms of violence shaped by age, gender, and dependency, their needs are still insufficiently recognised across support systems.
This European workshop brings together victim support services, women’s organisations, and professionals working with and for older survivors, to deepen understanding, strengthen cooperation, and build more responsive pathways to safety.
Through expert inputs, interactive discussions, and shared reflections, participants will gain concrete strategies and tools to improve their work with older survivors and contribute to more inclusive support structures and coordinated responses.
The workshop forms part of the MARVOW initiative and is designed to support practitioners in enhancing their capacity to recognise, respond to, and prevent abuse against older women. We warmly invite you to take part, exchange expertise, and help bring older women’s experiences from the margins to the centre of our collective efforts.
The event will be held online, in English, free of charge. Registration is required.
